FeedAssist ("we", "us") provides an iPhone app and companion service that drafts LinkedIn posts from sources you choose and publishes them only after your explicit approval. This policy explains what information we handle, why, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Account details — your email address and password (stored as a secure hash), used to create and sign in to your account.
- Content you provide — your persona description, tone preferences, topics, content sources (RSS feeds, news searches, YouTube channels), post drafts, edits and publishing history.
- LinkedIn connection — an OAuth access token issued by LinkedIn when you connect your account. We never see or store your LinkedIn password.
- Optional API keys — if you add your own AI or news API keys in Settings, we store them to make requests on your behalf.
- Device identifiers — a push notification token so we can tell you when a draft is ready.
How we use it
- To generate post drafts in your voice from the sources you configured.
- To publish posts to LinkedIn — only after you have explicitly approved each post in the app.
- To send you push notifications about drafts and connection reminders.
- To operate, secure and improve the service.
We do not sell your data, share it with third parties for advertising, or post anything to LinkedIn without your approval.
Legal bases for processing (GDPR)
Where the EU or UK General Data Protection Regulation applies, we process your personal data on the following legal bases:
- Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) — account details, content you provide, your LinkedIn token and drafts are processed because they are necessary to deliver the service you signed up for.
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) — push notifications, the LinkedIn connection itself, and any optional API keys you add are processed with your consent, which you may withdraw at any time (disable notifications, disconnect LinkedIn, or remove keys in Settings).
- Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) — limited processing needed to secure, debug and improve the service, balanced against your rights and freedoms.
Data controller
FeedAssist is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. You can reach us for any privacy matter at support@feedassist.ai.
International data transfers
Our servers are hosted on Amazon Web Services in the United States. Where personal data of EU/UK residents is transferred outside the EEA or UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and equivalent UK mechanisms.
How your data is protected
LinkedIn tokens and any API keys you add are encrypted at rest on our servers and used solely to provide the service described above. All traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).
Third-party services
To provide the service we interact with: LinkedIn (publishing your approved posts via official APIs), an AI provider (generating drafts from your persona and source material), and the content sources you configure. Each processes only the data needed for its role.
Data retention and deletion
Your data is retained while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from the app (Settings → Delete account), which permanently removes your account data, sources, drafts, tokens and keys from our systems. Copies held in encrypted backups are purged on the normal backup rotation, within 30 days.
Your rights under GDPR
If you are in the EU, EEA or UK, you have the right to:
- Access — obtain a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification — correct inaccurate data (most of it is editable directly in the app).
- Erasure ("right to be forgotten") — delete your account and data at any time from Settings, or by contacting us.
- Restriction — ask us to limit processing while a request is being resolved.
- Data portability — receive the data you provided in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests.
- Withdraw consent — at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
- Complain — lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.
To exercise any of these rights, use the in-app tools or email support@feedassist.ai. We respond within one month as required by the GDPR.
Cookies
This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies, and no third-party analytics run on it. The app itself uses only the technical storage necessary to keep you signed in.
Children
FeedAssist is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update this page and note the new effective date above.
